My Travels - Amsterdam

Hi Everyone! I am now back in Amsterdam, staying in a canal house (one of those tall, skinny houses beside the canal). We are staying win some old friends of my parents. Martin, Cath, Jack and Tom. Today we went on a canal tour, here are the photos I took . . .

Fun Fact: I have noticed that there are a lot of flags and objects with a symbol on them - three x's. I asked what that meant to the guy driving the canal tour boat. He said it represented the disasters in Amsterdam - The fire, the flood and the plague.

    It is great seeing your photos and reading about your travels. How lovely it is for you to be having time with your far away family. We enjoyed a stay in Amsterdam many years ago - 1988!
    I am looking forward to seeing your posts when you go to Barcelona.

    Those photos you took look so cool! Did you use a photo filter or does it just seem like Amsterdam is living in the 1900’s. Amsterdam looks so beautiful! For a second, I thought it sounded like Hamsterdam! Lol. Thanks for posting!

      No, sadly some of those photos are filters. Amsterdam is very beautiful though. See you at school soon!

      Hi Ezra,
      My trip in Amsterdam is going very well so far. My Auntie who lives in Amsterdam says she wouldn't advise swimming in the canals but every year there is a fundraising race in the canals.

    Hi Freya. I can't believe that your staying in a Canal House I bet it is cool as there I wish I could go there. Did you go on a tour?. I bet it was really fun.

      Hi Lennix.
      It is so fun staying in a canal house. There is a cool gadget that allows you to pull a rope so that the door opens when you cant be bothered to climb down the winding staircases! I did go on a tour and It was super fun.

    I have also been on a canal on our own boat ( it was so cool it had bean bags at the front ) in Amsterdam wow! Your journey sounds amazing and these photos look too good to be true! Where are you going next? And how long till you get back from your AMAZING holiday? I did not know that the flags represented that! And that is so amazing that you are staying in a house by the canals it must be a pretty view. Have you eaten lots of cheese? I bet you have ( I did ) miss you lots and hope you are home soon.

    Hi Freya, the canal tour looks so amazing. They look a bit like they have been painted by a professional photographer.
    Do you think you could get a photo of the three X’s you keep seeing because I would really like to see them?
